Rewards Terms and Conditions ("Credit Rewards Terms") for the
myWalgreens® Credit Card and the myWalgreens® Mastercard®
By opening a myWalgreens Credit Card or a myWalgreens Mastercard (each sometimes referred to herein as a "Walgreens Credit Card"), you hereby agree to be bound by these Credit Rewards Terms. A myWalgreens Credit Card is accepted for payment at participating Walgreens stores and Duane Reade stores owned by Walgreen Co. ("Walgreens") (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Walgreens Participating Stores") or online at walgreens.com. For a current list of Walgreens Participating Stores, visit Walgreens.com/FindAStore. A myWalgreens Mastercard is accepted for payment at any location (including online) where Mastercard credit cards are accepted, including at any Walgreens Participating Store or online at walgreens.com. You must be a member of the myWalgreens® Membership Experience Program (the "myWalgreens Program") provided by Walgreens prior to opening a Walgreens Credit Card in order to earn Walgreens Cash rewards as provided in these Credit Rewards Terms and under the myWalgreens Program. Only one Walgreens Credit Card account may be opened for each myWalgreens Program membership. Please go to myWalgreens.com for more information on the myWalgreens Program. These Credit Rewards Terms are managed, provided and operated by Walgreens and supplement (or to the limited extent provided herein, are in lieu of, and/or in addition to, certain terms of) the myWalgreens Program, the loyalty program terms and conditions to which you have agreed previously and which also apply. The amount of Walgreens Cash rewards earned using your Walgreens Credit Card is determined by Eligible Purchases (defined below). The percentage of Walgreens Cash rewards earned on categories of Eligible Purchases set forth below serve to replace the percentage of Walgreens Cash rewards offered for such categories specified in the terms and conditions governing the myWalgreens Program and/or are in addition to other myWalgreeens Program rewards, as applicable, in each case, unless otherwise determined by Walgreens and Synchrony Bank ("Synchrony") in their respective sole discretion from time to time without notice.
Earning Walgreens Cash rewards
When you make an eligible net purchase (minus all credits, returns and adjustments) ("Eligible Purchase") with your Walgreens Credit Card, you will automatically earn Walgreens Cash rewards as long as (1) your Walgreens Credit Card account is open and in good standing at the time you make an Eligible Purchase and (2) the myWalgreens Program member account that is associated with your Eligible Purchase as described below is open at the time you earn your Walgreens Cash rewards. Earned Walgreens Cash rewards will post to your myWalgreens Program member account described below within 30 days after you make an Eligible Purchase in any Participating Store or online once your entire order has shipped. Eligible Purchases do not include cash advances, disputed transactions, unauthorized or fraudulent transactions, interest, finance charges, fees and any other transactions that either Synchrony or Walgreens, as the case may be, may determine in its respective sole discretion are not eligible to earn Walgreens Cash rewards or are prohibited by law from earning Walgreens Cash rewards, and any purchases specifically excluded in the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions which can be viewed at walgreens.com/topic/help/generalhelp/mywalgreens-termsofuse.jsp.
There is no minimum amount of Eligible Purchases required before earning Walgreens Cash rewards under these Credit Rewards Terms. There is no maximum amount of Eligible Purchases that may earn Walgreens Cash rewards under these Credit Rewards Terms. Walgreens Cash rewards earned under these Credit Rewards Terms expire and may be forfeited in accordance with these Credit Rewards Terms and as provided in the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions. Eligible Purchases made using your myWalgreens Mastercard other than those Eligible Purchases made at Walgreens Participating Stores or online other than at walgreens.com which result in fractions of Walgreens Cash rewards will be rounded up to the nearest whole cent if equal to or greater than U.S. Dollars ("USD") $0.005 and rounded down if less than USD $0.005. Eligible Purchases made using your Walgreens Credit Card at Walgreens Participating Stores and online at walgreens.com will be rounded up (or down) as provided in the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions.
- Walgreens branded retail products purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 10% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases of retail products branded with Walgreens marks or logos when you use your Walgreens Credit Card to make Eligible Purchases at Walgreens Participating Stores or at walgreens.com.
- Walgreens nonbranded retail products purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 5% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases of retail products that are not branded with Walgreens marks or logos when you use your Walgreens Credit Card to make Eligible Purchases at Walgreens Participating Stores or at walgreens.com.
- Walgreens Pharmacy Purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 5% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases of certain prescription drugs and immunizations when you use your Walgreens Credit Card to make Eligible Purchases at Walgreens Participating Stores or at walgreens.com. This is in addition to any other pharmacy rewards available to you for such purchases under the myWalgreens Program.
- Health and Wellness Purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 3% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases when you use your myWalgreens Mastercard to make Eligible Purchases at health and wellness merchants other than at Walgreens Participating Stores (including walgreens.com). Eligible Purchases made at such health and wellness merchants will be determined by the MCC as defined below.
- Grocery Purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 3% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases when you use your myWalgreens Mastercard to make Eligible Purchases at grocery store merchants, merchants that sell goods or merchandise for home consumption convenience, bakery and delicatessen stores and wholesale clubs that sell a full range of goods (often in bulk) and services in warehouse style stores other than at Walgreens Participating Stores (including walgreens.com). Eligible Purchases made at such grocery merchants will be determined by the MCC as defined below.
- All Other Purchases. You will earn Walgreens Cash rewards equal to 1% of every USD spent for Eligible Purchases when you use your myWalgreens Mastercard to make Eligible Purchases everywhere else Mastercard credit cards are accepted that are not listed above.
- Promotional Purchases. From time to time, bonus Walgreens Cash rewards may be available for certain Eligible Purchases made using your Walgreens Credit Card and may include spending thresholds or limits, time period restrictions or other factors. Any such bonus Walgreens Cash rewards will be subject to the terms and conditions of such bonus rewards offer made to you in addition to these Credit Rewards Terms and the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions.
"MCC" is a merchant category code that is a four-digit classification code that is assigned to a merchant by the merchant's payment card network or merchant processor based on the predominant business activity of the merchant. The merchant's MCC classification code will determine how a particular purchase qualifies to receive the percentage of Walgreens Cash rewards. For example, a grocery store purchase made at a gas station convenience store may have an MCC classification code of a gas station merchant and not a grocery store merchant, and a grocery store purchase made at Walmart, Target, Amazon or another big box retailer may have an MCC classification code of a merchant other than a grocery store merchant and therefore, in each of such examples, any such purchase would not qualify as a grocery purchase under these Credit Rewards Terms. Neither Walgreens nor Synchrony assigns or has responsibility for the assignment of MCCs associated with any Eligible Purchase or evaluates which MCC should be assigned to a particular merchant. Walgreens and Synchrony each reserve the right to determine from time to time the categories listed above and which MCCs are included in each such category. Neither Walgreens nor Synchrony is responsible for awarding Walgreens Cash rewards for Eligible Purchases made at merchants that do not accurately report transactions using the correct MCC described above.
In addition, the following terms apply to earning such rewards:
- Eligible Purchases made using your Walgreens Credit Card at Walgreens Participating Stores: Any Walgreens Cash rewards earned on such Eligible Purchases will be awarded to the myWalgreens Program member account associated with the phone number you enter at the point of sale terminal in store. You may need to select the appropriate myWalgreens Program member account in the event there is more than one myWalgreens Program member account associated with such phone number. If you select a phone number that is not associated with your Walgreens Credit Card account, the selected myWalgreens Program member account will earn the Walgreens Cash rewards.
- Eligible Purchases made using your Walgreens Credit Card online at walgreens.com: Any Walgreens Cash rewards earned on such Eligible Purchases will be awarded to the myWalgreens Program member account associated with the user ID you use when logging in online. If you use a user ID when logging in online that is not associated with your Walgreens Credit Card account, so long as the selected user ID has a myWalgreens Program member account associated with that user ID, then that myWalgreens Program member will earn the Walgreens Cash rewards. If the selected user ID does not have a myWalgreens Program member account, then no Walgreens Cash rewards will be earned.
- Eligible Purchases made using your myWalgreens Mastercard other than at Walgreens Participating Stores or online at walgreens.com: Any Walgreens Cash rewards earned on such Eligible Purchases will be awarded to the myWalgreens Program member account associated with your myWalgreens Mastercard account.
Redeeming Walgreens Cash rewards is subject to the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions, including your myWalgreens Program member account described above being open and such member account having a positive Walgreens Cash rewards balance.
How to view and redeem Walgreens Cash rewards
To view Walgreens Cash rewards earned, log in to your myWalgreens Program member account at walgreens.com or on the Walgreens App or at the point of sale terminal in store. To redeem Walgreens Cash rewards, please see the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions.
Walgreens Cash rewards adjustments and account closure
Adjustments will be made to your Walgreens Cash rewards as the result of cancelled transactions, refunds, other credits to your Walgreens Credit Card account (including those resulting from disputes) and other credits from merchants. If Synchrony or Walgreens believes you have (i) violated or are violating these Credit Reward Terms and/or the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions; or (ii) engaged in or are engaging in fraud or abuse or are otherwise gaming these Credit Rewards Terms or the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions, there may be an adjustment to your Walgreens Cash rewards, closure of your Walgreens Credit Card account, or closure of your myWalgreens Program member account, as applicable. An adjustment may reduce Walgreens Cash rewards in your myWalgreens Program member account in an amount up to the amount of any Walgreens Cash rewards originally earned on the Eligible Purchase. Adjustments may cause a negative balance in your Walgreens Cash rewards.
Other Conditions
You acknowledge that the Walgreens Cash rewards earned under the myWalgreens Program and under these Credit Rewards Terms have no cash value, may not be used for gift giving purposes, may only be used in conjunction with the myWalgreens Program and that the Walgreens Cash rewards are purely promotional and are provided without the payment of any consideration or other thing of value. Unless and until the Walgreens Cash rewards are earned, redeemed and used as provided in these Credit Rewards Terms and the myWalgreens Program terms and conditions, as applicable, you have no right, title or interest in the Walgreens Cash rewards. Nothing herein requires Synchrony or Walgreens to credit any Walgreens Cash rewards to your myWalgreens Program member account if either or both of the Credit Rewards Terms program or the myWalgreens Program has or have been cancelled, terminated or suspended. These Credit Rewards Terms are subject to the governing law and arbitration provisions of the agreements governing your Walgreens Credit Card account. You consent and authorize Synchrony and its affiliates and any of its subsidiaries and affiliates and non-affiliated third parties with whom they manage these Credit Rewards Terms to share information about you. These Credit Rewards Terms are void where prohibited by federal, state or local law. The myWalgreens Mastercard is issued by Synchrony Bank pursuant to a license from Mastercard International Incorporated. Mastercard is a registered trademark, and the circles design is a trademark of Mastercard International Incorporated.
Credit Rewards Terms and Walgreens Cash rewards terms modifications
Walgreens and Synchrony each reserve the right to cancel, modify, restrict, waive or terminate any aspects or features of these Credit Rewards Terms (including, without limitation, the number of Walgreens Cash rewards earned for each USD in Eligible Purchases made with your Walgreens Credit Card) at any time and without prior notice.
